You can wear anything you like. For instance, white sneakers - in my mind - equal tennis player. Because when I played tennis we all had to wear white everything. I have long hair (that's purple). I wear jeans & motorcycle boots. I also wear hoop earrings & pony-tails. All supposedly off-limits to those of us "of a certain age."

What I have stopped wearing is the weight of others' expectations.
