WORD. Same with my kiddo and her liver transplant. When I was telling one of my friends what the diagnosis was and that my kid was facing a liver transplant one day — she said, “Liver transplant — really? That’s so bizarre!” She wasn’t wrong. Every parent worries about their kid getting leukemia — that’s THE childhood cancer, or maybe a fall out of a tree and break an arm. No one thinks their 3rd grader is going to come home one day from school and need a liver transplant. Never. Saw. It. Coming. Or else I would have concentrated on fretting about that. :)
