When my father died in Florida & his body was shipped to PA to be buried next to my mother, I asked the funeral director the same question, "And you're sure it's him?" The funeral director - who had been 'in the business' for decades & his family before him, assured me that even though he hadn't seen my dad in a while, it was him. I think this is a perfectly reasonable question to ask & find an answer to. Things happen, mistakes are made, humans are fallible. My philosophy for most stuff - trust but verify. Especially with the big, heavy bits of life. <3
