When I was an OR nurse I always wore Dansko clogs. They were hard and gave my arches amazing support. Even when I left the OR — I still wore them to drive a desk otherwise my feet would ache all the to my hips. Nurses have to take care of their feet and backs.
Truthfully- I can’t remember my parents rule about shoes in the house. I think they left them on. My husband’s family didn’t wear shoes inside and had a rubber mat just inside the door to put your shoes on. I think that’s when I began removing shoes at home too. I had mats at every door — cause dog and kids. My kids got trained eventually. My grandkids also remove shoes upon entering the house.
It does make for cleaner floors. Especially If you have carpet.
I laughed about the high heels- no worries! 😂
I have never played flip flop basketball- but rest assured — it’s on my to do list!!
