We learned a lot with my daughter’s caretaking of her dad. For instance, I had never heard of the payable upon death clause you can add to bank accounts. And also — the fact that once you die, a POA is void to deal with one’s estate. The executor (even if they are the same person) must manage all that and of course, with different & more complicated paperwork.
