We are wired psychologically to respond to negative input — I read somewhere. It sticks with us more. That’s why the one misstep we took will linger in our memory banks long after the 100 things we got right in a day will be water over the bridge. We need to flip the switch somehow. Give ourselves credit for knowing what we know.

And I’m old enough to remember the day when people didn’t lose their minds when we disagreed with each other. Americans used to say — I may not agree with you but I will fight to the death your right to say/do/think that. Including stuff like peacefully/respectfully protesting during the National Anthem.

No one lost their shit — no one’s world was destroyed — because someone had a different opinion than you did.
