I’ve been Plain all of My Life.
There are so many benefits to Being Plain.
For instance — when you’re Plain — you never — for one second — worry about losing your looks. In fact, the opposite seems to occur. Age looks good on you. The silvering of your crown, the lines on your face, the softness of your form gives you a radiance you didn’t have when you were younger.
When you are Plain — you are never concerned about going to war for the causes which are dear to you. The scars of your battles do not alarm you. You have never measured your worth by external trappings. You fear nothing.
You know on a cellular level your physical being is not the whole of who you are. You look in the mirror, see The Vessel and give it no further thought. You are not your body. You are your soul. “You are a spiritual being having a human experience.” — Wayne Dyer.
Other Humans will dismiss you. Other Humans will underestimate you. Other Humans will not see you. Being Plain is one of the greatest camouflages that ever existed in modern society. Plain Humans grow up to become Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and Meryl Streep. And then — they kick ass.
One day you look up and you are no longer Plain. Your caterpillar self has morphed into the true expression of your soul. Your butterfly wings dazzle with glorious color and carry you far up into the cosmos of your dreams. The causes you struggled against in your cocoon of metamorphosis have only made you stronger.
While all around you The Beautiful Humans wail and bemoan the aging process and the loss of their prime, you know — you have only begun to fly.
Namaste.
