There was a joke nurses used to tell — it goes like this: What do you call someone who graduated last in their medical school class? …Doctor.
50% of all physicians out there graduated in the lower 50% of their class. As consumers — we all can advocate for ourselves. I was a transplant coordinator & nurse navigator, that’s what I did. Advocate for patients. No one has to be polite if they feel they aren’t receiving good care. But to shun ALL care, completely out of hand because of a bad experience with one of those MDs who may not have as much skill, that’s only hurting oneself. Just like a car, our bodies need regular maintenance. But we still get to pick the “mechanic”. ;)
