The realization hit me when my daughter was diagnosed — it would not matter if she was 70 & I was 91 — she would always be my little girl. And whatever happened to either one of my kids would always hit me like a sucker punch because Motherhood never ends. It doesn’t magically melt away when they move out or even get married or become parents themselves. This is always your child. Always.
