Who we are vs who we think we are
It starts with a loose thread. A little something which just doesn’t seem to fit the tapestry you’ve woven about your life.
At first, you can just trim it neatly. But it persists. Insists on being tugged and pulled out. It irritates your sensibility. It ruins the patterns you’ve so carefully constructed. It has to go.
So you pull.
And ever so slowly your tapestry unravels.
You are not who you thought you were at all.
Your carefully constructed image was just that. The Real You shines forth from behind all the masks and shields so intricately placed.
Relationships unravel as well. Other Humans who were only interested in the beauty of the tapestry leave you behind in their search for things without substance. For substance demands substance in return and they are not yet ready to pull at their loose threads.
The gift of this new existence is how much lighter you feel. Without the weight of the masks and shields. Without the responsibility of maintaining the tapestry. You find yourself free to explore All. The. Things/Places/Dreams you hardly knew you had.
Be brave when you feel the urge to pull the thread. Stand strong as the tapestry unravels at your feet. Feel the lift as you shed your armor and masks and step into who you really are.
Namaste.
