If only adults would do this one simple thing. Stay in our own lanes. There would be no preachers out there attempting to save us. There would be no political parties demanding we blindly pledge allegiance to their agenda. There would be no bullies, no terrorists, no crime.
But no. None of us seem to learn this simple lesson that The Magical Creatures embrace. We don’t stay in our own lanes.
This year — Christmas morning dawned with piles of presents from Santa, Mommy & Daddy, plus All. The. Relatives. There was delight — but also some FOMO as the sisters critically eyed each other’s loot. Right up till the time Mommy reminded them — stay in your own lanes.
That means keeping focused on your own world, your own life, your own gifts. Do not compare or measure who you are or what you have (or lack) to those around you. Learn to live in gratitude for what you have been given without coveting the gifts of others.
Think of the world we could build for all our Magical Creatures if we only applied this lesson. If we focused on making our world a better place. If we focused on challenging ourselves to be better at Humaning. If we turned our vision inward to heal our wounds instead of lashing out at those around us.
If we all just stayed in our lanes.
Namaste.
“So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” — John 8:7
Or perhaps this:
“How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while there is still a beam in your own eye?” — Matthew 7:4
