The Lord of Rings (books of course — NOT movies) saved my life literally — as a teenager. I escaped to Middle Earth and became Eowyn — The Warrior Princess of Rhohan. Not to be confused with Arwen — The Fairy Princess. The Riders of Rhohan were horsemen and when you’re a 13 year old motherless girl who rides horses — Eowyn is just the kind of heroine you need to survive your life. She kills the Witch King of the Nazgul in an epic scene which fulfills an ancient prophecy that had made that old Witch King think he was immortal. Yeah. Not. Four little words — turned the tide of battle and brought back hope to the troops.

I. Am. No. Man.

Still gives me chills.
