That was just it, wasn’t it? Who had time/energy for hobbies while the weight of one’s nursing career was so heavy to bear? I never realized it until I set the thing down how very heavy it was & how much bearing it had cost me.

Be kind to yourself, Nancy. As nurses — we were brainwashed into taking care of everyone else around us first. But the airline has it right — we need to put on our own oxygen masks before we are really able to help anyone else. I know that once I got a taste of all the fun stuff out there — I was hooked!

I know I needed to meet & interact with other Humans who were not in the medical field. Meet-up & my local senior center is helping me there. I’ve met a lot of really lovely Humans and they don’t care what I used to do for a living. They just like me right now — right as I am. And they’re fun! :)
