That was awesome! In NC you can’t divorce for 365 days after you separate. It’s the law. The separation agreement grants all of the rights & priveledges of being single — except you can’t remarry. You’re still married…a married single person. A period of limbo for a year. So I sat there. In limbo and on day 366 — filed. It took another 6 weeks for the judge to sign the decree. But I was then unmarried.
