Thank you so much for responding & sharing. Congrats on your retirement and condolences for your loss. Life is so very yin/yang.

I have a roommate who works from home — so I am usually aware when the weekend rolls around. But truthfully, for me, every day is like the first day of summer vacation! Putting down the weight of my career felt incredible!

Not having the pressure to do Life around a work schedule is such a blessing. Last month I had my usual spring asthma exacerbation (the flowering trees of NC try to kill me every year). However, this spring I could just relax and be. Heal at my own pace without the specter of the work I was missing hanging over my head. I recovered much quicker this year than in previous years. Just having “the opportunity to savor” my healing meant so much.

It’s amazing how much simpler self-care becomes when you’re the only name on that list. ;)

Many blessings to your dear heart — may you find peace and grow around the grief of your loss. ❤
