Practical is the reason I went to nursing school. At the time — I needed a J.O.B. that would always be there. Period. I had two kids and a husband. We were building a life. After my first literature course — I wanted to switch majors — I LOVED TO WRITE — but well — where in rural upstate NY was I going to find a J.O.B doing that to even pay off my college loan let alone make any headway for my family?? Yeah — no. Nursing school it was! :) My younger daughter was stunned to hear that I hadn’t actually WANTED to be a nurse. Nope — I wanted a job. But in the end — The Universe always knows what’s She’s doing. Nursing was a perfect fit for me. I’ve been at it over 25 years now.
