Persephone (Kore) — Goddess of Spring and Queen of Hell. You, too, should embrace your contradictions. She is my hero on so many levels. The myth tells of her ‘abduction’. And yet — when she was given the opportunity to simply leave — she did not. She ate a pomegranate seed which in fact freed her from both her husband and her mother’s obsessive need to control her destiny. She then got to have BOTH worlds. She did not have to pledge her love to one or the other.

She defined her own place in The World and in Hell. She refused to be neither a perpetual child nor an abused wife. She became Goddess and Queen.

So yea — bring me my pomegranates & my crown. ;)

Happy Travels!! Goddess!
