Today I’m traveling. I am so excited about this I can hardly bear it. I LOVE to travel. I particularly love to fly.

I got up at 3:45 this morning to catch my 5:51 flight. It didn’t seem hard at all. I remember my days of working in the OR when a 5 AM alarm would make me groan right out loud.

But not this morning. I fairly hopped out of bed!

The stars aligned — as per usual. While hundreds of people waited to board in the regular line, I skipped through with two folks ahead of me to the TSA pre check area and was through security before I knew it. Boots on — liquids still intact in my baggie and safely stowed in my carry on. Soooo worth the bucks for that gem. Highly endorsing it.

I settled into my seat — boarding with group 6 to a nearly empty plane. No sweat regarding my carryon — plenty of room in the over head compartment. I had the whole row to myself. Wahoo!

I became completely lost in my favorite part of flying — the take off. I listened to the engines roar and come to life. I felt the surge of speed and then — YES! There it was — the lift! We were airborne! The earth fell away and we soared into the great promise of Beyond The Horizon. Second star to the right and straight on till morning — we would fly.

As the flight brought me to my connection and the pilot announced we would be landing — The Sun began His accent into day. He brought all the brilliant colors He had on His pallet just for me. Joy filled me with His gift — a magical bonus.

The very best part is yet to come. At my final destination I will be greeted by my family. Specifically by my cousin/sister/friend who is to me more than words can adequately describe. Our bond stretches through decades, across miles, beyond trials and heartache.

If we are very blessed — our journeys are full of wonder and they bring us home to the people who know and love us well.

Today my journey is all of that.

Happy Birthday Carol! You are one of the best gifts I have received in my life. See you soon!

Namaste
