Oh James — I’m so sorry that is completely brutal. My first nursing job was on a respiratory floor. And I’ve worked in home care providing oxygen concentrators and liquid oxygen early in my career. I understand what you and your Dad must be facing.

I noticed the ego thing with surgeons ages ago. Timid — humble surgeons don’t do well with the intensity of the OR. They sort of need to have a pinch of asshole in them.

I’m so glad — I’m always glad — to hear a family or patient say they are getting the support they need from their nurses. May you and your Dad have peace in this journey.
