Oh honey! I’ve been a nurse a long time. It’s everything you said. You captured our hearts and souls in this. The unit is battle field enough on its own even without COVID. Those kids will never remember your name — but they will remember the nurse who managed to let them see their mom. Because that’s the real reason we’re here. To add our humanity to healthcare. We do the right thing. And we do it. Every. Single. Time.
