Of course it’s a challenge! Not only does philosophy but psychology as well teaches us this:
“If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part yourself. What isn’t part ourselves doesn’t disturb us. — Hermann Hesse”
“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves. — Carl Jung”
And The Universe will throw those parts of ourselves we need to examine at us over & over again.
The challenge therefore becomes this — how do we react? Do we engage and defend? Stand our ground and perpetuate the madness? Or do we look past to see The More?
Because just as surely as I Am More — so too is the interrogator. As I said — we are ALL MORE than the issues that attempt to divide us. We all come from the same source. And perhaps the REAL challenge in all of this is to remember that.
No matter what divides us — if we stop giving fucks about the all the bits and pieces we can move past it to see the whole lovely kaleidoscope that is Humanity. And maybe — just maybe — heal the parts of our broken selves which we keep inflicting upon each other.
Thank you for reading and responding with such a lovely thought provoking comment. I pondered it for awhile for a reply I thought would be suitable because truly — I loved that it made me think. Many Blessings.
