Not Sweating It…

A very good friend told me tonight “Everything is small stuff”.
I have such smart friends.
Because you see, humans get confused. We get confused all the time. We think we are born to live. But we’re not. We are born to die.
And when you frame your life in those terms, it is so very easy to embrace my friend’s wisdom. Everything. Is. Small. Stuff.
We should not spend our precious moments wasted on the things we can not change or the arguments we can not win. We should walk away from all that troubles our hearts. We should only engage in those things which add joy to our existence here — brief though it may be.
So much easier said than done, isn’t it?
But tonight, when my friend gave me these words, my angst simply evaporated. Because if these were my last moments — I surely would not want to give them to this unjust thing I was pondering. I would not want to pour one more ounce of energy out upon it.
So I did not. I let it all go. And away it went.
I am blessed over and over by the love and sage advice — just when I need it most — of My Tribe, two of the most wonderful kids on the planet — and their spousal units, and The Three Magical Creatures.
Look at your life. All the ‘stuff’ in it is ‘small’. But I tell you what — the people…the people are huge!
Namaste.
