My surgeons' favorite saying was this: Age is not a diagnosis. I operated on 90 year olds who could play 18 holes of golf and completely kick your ass at it. I think women, in particular, have a tendancy to take care of everyone/thing around them - except themselves. Our society rewards our self-sacrifice until we hit 60 or so and then all that catches up with our health and it gets blamed on time instead on a culture that encourages us to ignore our bodies and her needs.
