My parents were middle aged when I was born. All the adults in my family were ‘old’. And in truth — they were kinda grumpy old people. Every younger generation, I believe, can feel that weariness of body and soul that affects some people as they age. This isn’t breaking news for the current batch.
Aging also removes filters and those who were dissatisfied in life will voice this more aggresively with age. Ironically, the youth complaining about the ‘old’ people — will likely grow into adults who complain about something. It’s a personality type — not an ‘age’.
Sadly, our cohort isn’t any different than our parents. There are those among us who follow their personality type right into ‘grumpy’. Then there are the rest of us — who decide to re-live our youth — only with better resources and hopefully a bit of wisdom. :)
Wonderful post! ❤
