My first horse I had was a white Arab looking little mare. She was just under the requirement of 13.2 hands - so I showed her in pony classes when I was 13. Unfortunately - she would also be my education in training horses - as she came with many faults brought on by her former abusive owner. She had this habit of putting her nose into the barn door as you were mounting her and refusing to turn and move forward. If you did get her facing down the driveway - she would just back up unti her bum touched the barn door.

One day it ocurred to me that she was pretty good at backing up - so - the next time I was on her - nose to the barndoor - I backed her down the driveway. After 3 or 4 times of backing away from her beloved barn - she decided it was her idea to move forward and walk down the driveway.

As with all horses - you can't 'MAKE' them do what you want them to. Most run about 1000 -2000 pounds. Anything you want them to do has to be their idea. You have to be willing to think outside the box.

Which also works well with Life! <3 Hope you are well My Friend and have a very Happy Holiday! <3
