Marriage is about mutual compromise. When I read this, I see you trying very hard to accommodate your husband's preference for more silence. What I don't see here is what HE is doing to compromise so that you can also exist in an environment that makes you happy.

I'm thinking he might need a sound-proofed man cave to retreat to for those quiet moments or perhaps he should consider wearing ear plugs - instead of you having to turn down or give up music. At least taking turns for when he wants some quiet. :)

As women, we always try to 'fix' everything. I have recently learned in this new relationship of mine - just how helpful and willing a man can be once he sees the situation as something he can also contribute to as a partner.
