James — I can’t even begin to tell you how much your response lifted my spirits. I recently read a piece on another publication that basically trashed a surgery speciality I had worked closely with during my time in the OR. It was extremely hurtful as this writer painted my entire profession with a callous brush.

I may not be anyone’s nurse today — but when I was a nurse — my patients were always treated with respect & the same care I would want for my own family. It was just one of many knives the public have placed in the backs of healthcare professionals since the pandemic began.

It truly hurts my heart. And I didn’t think anything related to my former career could do that anymore.
