It’s perspective. When you are a 4 year old who is having nightmares because you don’t want your asthmatic sister and Nana to die from the corona virus — your mommie has to do something to help you cope.

So you learn to wash your hands like you have glitter on them. This is something your 4 year old self can do to protect the Humans in your world you love most. And the nightmares come less often.

Children absorb way more than grown-ups ever give them credit for. So yeah — we talk about The Glitter all the time. Because the sense of safety and mental health of children are every bit as important as their physical health in These Days.
