It’s a little less complicated for spouses than for the adult children, I believe. But check with your state because, of course, each one is different. As time goes on & things get more settled — I will likely get a new POA that’s a durable POA & goes into effect the moment it’s signed. Right now, this one is for the unseen catastrophe. Later it will be for the inevitable decline. :)

I was my dad’s POA, but it was just him & my brother didn’t want the job. LOL
