It was.

One Mother's Day - my older daughter posted a photo of 14-year-old me sitting astride my first horse. In one of the best Mother's Day gifts ever - on her Intragram feed she wrote about All. The. Lives. I had lived. Acknowledging the shifting and morphing of my body & soul over time. I remember looking at that photo from back then and wanting to reach back to reassure that girl.

Do not be so afraid or lonely. The chapters of your life will write themselves and you will become the heroine of your own story. You are braver than you know.

Perhaps many of us fail to recognize that part. Our courage - the strength inside of us that led us to pursue the next thing - to write our next chapter.

But yet, we still do it.
