So it has happened again. A situation in your life which you were sure you had put behind you. You were so absolutely positive you had learned that lesson, convinced and cocky — you never saw it coming. Again.

Oh maybe the vibes were there. But not as loud as usual. Part of you recognized the signs, but another part of you really wanted to believe that this time would be different. Because you had convinced yourself so thoroughly that it really was different.

You had gone about things in an entirely different manner. But really, had you?

Wasn’t it just the same old song simply played to a different tempo? Maybe you changed a dance step here and there. But the song ended the same way it always does.

And as the last chorus began — that’s when you began to recognize the lesson. As you looked back, you saw the familiar pattern, the same steps, and you knew you had not changed. You had not learned.

Remember your lessons, so as not to repeat them. But don’t let them define you. You do not have to sigh with regret — ever. Over anything.

Today you can begin again. Once more. Because that is all you can do when you have realized you were given the lesson. Start again.

Thankfully, each day is a new beginning. Each sunrise a clean slate. Our ability to step into our Now and live a fresh and bright present is always with us.

Namaste.
