In the summer I am taken back most often to the happy days of my childhood. Time spent with my Mom before she died, the freedom of riding my bike around our small town, swimming in the town pool, after her death I spent time on my Aunt’s farm — riding horses and being healed by their magic. But it always ended with walking back into school and that familiar smell. I think all schools smell the same. My grand daughters’ school smells just like I remember my school smelling :) And while going back to school meant the end of lazy summer days, there was always the excitement of preparation, the joy of seeing friends again, and the edge of terror as you met your new teachers. LOL
