In the OR, you are on a team of nurses & scrub techs who work the same kind of cases. My team did hearts, vascular, transplant, & thoracic surgeries. The doctors that ran those cases were MY doctors. They would get nervous with nurses or techs in their room that they didn’t know well. When I went to the surgery center, I did abortions, laser treatments, urology, general, & oncology surgery. My favorite docs were the oncology surgeons. I loved working with them. And I loved them — they were all amazing. :) So I was their nurse & they were my surgeons. That’s how it worked.
