In the Dark Ages — before the Internet — there was an attitude in America. It went something like this. “I may not agree with you, but I will defend your right to say it” Some folks would throw in “I will defend to the death, your right to say it” — those people being way more devoted than the rest of us. Because the only thing I’d defend to the death were my children. But anyway. We used to believe in that stuff. Everyone got to have an opinion and we saw it as such. An opinion. A lot of them were bat shit crazy and biased and yes — there was social problems Civil Rights and Feminist movements were born because the majority needed to have their opinions aired out and updated. It was a bloody mess. But we dragged them along and we changed society some. But then Journalism died this horrible death and turned into Fox News and CNN and MSN and people stopped having their own thoughts. Humanity drank the koolaide and chose sides — red or blue. No one is purple anymore. Its sad. It will be our undoing no doubt. We need way more purple.
