In small strips. When I make a pie or quiche that’s cooked at a high heat I tear off a strip of foil about 3-4 inches wide then I tear each strip into 4-5 segments. That works beautifully to cover the edge of a pie crust. Sometimes you need to tear off a second strip of 3-4 inch foil if the pie plate is large.
