In my experience — this type of personality develops as a mental disorder related to early childhood sexual assaults. It was predominant in the Alternative high school among many of the teenaged girls where I worked decades ago and is also seen as an unhealthy coping mechanism in women with the inability to resolve their traumatic life experiences.

Compassion is required. One never knows the roots of a mental illness. And unlike toxic masculinity — society does not champion and reward women’s personality disorders.
