I’m an asthmatic, so between the disease & the med for it — over the years my resting heart rate never fell below mid-80s. When I don’t get a chance to swim as much as usual — I watch it creep back up out of the mid-60s. I had surgery this summer & couldn’t swim for 4 weeks. My resting heart rate went back up 10 points. It’s down again — thankfully. But that’s only one of the reasons I feel so good after I swim.
