I went to Audibel for my hearing test. The brand I received was Starkey. I have the smallest ones because I have a small ear canal. There is a piece that sits behind my ear & clear tubing that attaches the in the ear piece to the part behind my ear. They are completely invisible. No one knows I'm wearing them even with my hair pulled back & my ears hanging out in the open. The only tell is that I can now hear things. Just last night, I hear my granddaughter call for her sister. She was upstairs & I was downstairs. Normally, I don't hear them when they leave the room. I'm very glad I got them. I don't really care if anyone sees them or not. Any more than I'm concerned that someone notices I'm wearing contacts or glasses.
Somewhere along the line my vanity stepped aside so my body could take advantage of the existing technology to enhance my quality of life. The addition of sound back into my life was worth the initial, "OH CRAP! I'm officially 'old' if I have hearing aids" mental debate.
I have news - we're still old. Without hearing aids, we're old AND DEAF. When we can choose to just be OLD.
Good luck! Be sure to check with any organizations you be long to or insurances you have. Some have negotiated better rates at certain audiology providers. I got a full year of batteries & a $400 discount on mine through my insurance plan.
