I was fortunate in that I was working in the OR when I first went purple. Hats… Patients and my bosses didn’t have a clue unless I showed them on purpose. The peds patient’s loved my hair — so I’d take off my hat to show them. Helped put them at ease and make them forget about getting their tonsils out. :) Bu then — I interviewed for my current J.O.B. — case manager for oncology. Real clothes — driving a desk — with purple hair. Only Loads MORE of it by then. I had gone from one streak behind my right ear to basically all of the hair south of my ears. Sort of hombre from white to lavender to jam to plum. My stylist is MAGIC…but — my new bosses loved me enough to see past or maybe because of the hair…who knows? I got lucky. I think one of the surgeons I have now is an old fashioned by the book kind of guy — he’s having a bit of an adjustment curve to All. The. Things. Ann. LOL

But I’ve been fortunate in many ways to be able to express myself. My tattoo on my left wrist is also clearly visible every day — it says ‘freedom’ in cursive. Some places that would be frowned on as well.

Kerry — one of these days perhaps — you know? You could always go purple and get a WIG for work? LOL

Us geeks — we are a WILD bunch. People have no idea!!! ❤ Send me photos when you do. I have no doubt — it’s gonna be a when.. not an if.
