I understand this completely! I used to live in Upstate NY & NE PA. Winter started around Halloween & ended (if we got lucky) by Easter. A full good solid 1/2 year of just winter. Now in NC - winter arrives for about 2 weeks in January. By the time February shows up - the trees are starting to blossom.

I celebrate all the seasonal transitions. An Earth based calendar just makes so much sense to me & I can feel a better connection to this life. This Real Life.

I think Humans don't care to embrace the darkness & shadows when they arrive. But darkness can bring rest & reprieve if we allow it.
