I understand. But for those of us who have exhausted our adrenals by having a career where everything was served with a side of adrenaline, life need not be an adventure anymore. Been there, done that. I live a simple, small life these days & I'm perfectly ok with that. Many people look at my life from the outside & only notice the quiet, boring bits. Never realizing that some of us NEED years - even decades of that kind of routine & solace to heal from the scars of said careers. I'm an extrovert by nature and enjoy a bit of traveling (especially if a beach is involved). But I've never been the sort of woman who enjoys roller coasters or scaling mountains.

I think in retirement, I've finally gotten to be who I have been all along. There's nothing wrong with balancing adventure/peace - if you can pull it off - that fabulous! My scale was so unbalanced for so long, I feel like I lost myself, that peaceful part of myself. Retirement has seen her re-emerge. :)

Have a great weekend!
