I understand completely. I had dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, rabbits throughout the whole of my life. I even had fish at one point. Which is why the decision to not have a pet at this stage is a conundrum. :) When I had pets, I vacuumed every day. Every room. Otherwise, I couldn't breathe. My asthma has gotten more severe as I aged & I've nearly been hospitalized more than once. My priority at this point in my life is to be healthy for The Magical Creatures. They need me more than I need a companion animal. Priorities shift. At this point in my life, even a friend who has cats visiting me for a couple hours can negatively impact my ability to breathe without difficulty. Owning my own pet is simply out of the question.
