I tried to install a doorbell camera. Sadly the amperage? Voltage? to my doorbell isn't sufficient to support the cameras. I got the whole thing installed & it wouldn't 'ring' my actual doorbell. When I called tech support for it - they explained what was going on. Apparently it's a common problem with older homes.

I was disappointed for a bit. But not so disappointed that I was willing to hire an electrician to come in & fix the issue. LOL
