I think all of us - especially at this age - want authenticity rather than butterflies. I would not go with the cheesy pick up lines - women can see right through them - however - compliments set a good tone for ice breakers. Real compliments. I'd go with the advice of Dr. Christina Yang (Gray's Anatomy):

“Oh, screw beautiful. I'm brilliant. If you want to appease me, compliment my brain.”— Dr. Cristina Yang,

And the fact that I'm giving you this advice - rather proves that men & women DON'T really think alike. ;)
