I sense the fear in all the responses I read. The desperate attempt to cement back a status quo which served a certain sector of the population for so long. The breaking of the Sound of Silence too brittle for their ears to bear. In some cases — I can also sense the pain behind their words, and I wonder if they might also be survivors unable to reconcile their own experience so deeply buried in their subconscious yet still triggered to anger and anxiety by telling of the tale by others.

I have learned to drop my sword in dealing with other’s pain or anger. They must cope with their emotions. Change always comes. Even if it crawls on baby mouse knees for a millenia.
