I relate so much to this! I am also extroverted introvert! Can I join your club?? I finally found a ‘fit’ when I became a nurse — because with that profession — like joining the military — there are no atheists in foxholes, and you bond because of the hell you face each day. Not exactly the best criteria for relationships — but they work. Nearly all my Tribe are nurses.

But I found — when I gave up trying to fit in & just started being me was when people started ‘seeing me’. I didn’t have to look for friends anymore. If that makes sense. It’s almost like a James Dean thing. I got comfortable in my own skin — did my own thing and told everyone else to go pound salt if they didn’t like me — I. Don’t. Care. Anymore. And then — well — they were curious about this odd being who seemed so content in her own company and didn’t need us. I was and still am a bit — pleasantly surprised when someone likes me. Its just a bonus. :)

Humans are so weird. I told my daughters — if you have one good friend from each decade you live — you are blessed.

Have a most wonderful day — friend!
