I particularly love Wilma Mankiller’s quote which appears frequently:

“In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.”

But in researching Seven Generations — we have to understand — we are not the pinnacle — the linchpin generation. We are also the 3rd generation — the 1st generation — Life is a continuum. We must steward wisely. We must look back with respect and forward with care and see all the points on this lineage.

We are all One. With everything before us. Everything in our Now. Everything after us.
