I loved My Dog. She was with me for over 15 years. She died when we were in Pittsburgh getting my daughter treated for lymphoma post liver transplant. Right after she died, my daughter’s recovery accelerated and she got well. I can’t help but think so often she laid down her life in place of Her Girl’s. Because for so long there — it was touch and go with my daughter. And then suddenly she just started to recover.
So My Rescue Dog — whom I loved like my very own child for so long — in the end — rescued my family with her final gift. Every now and then I feel her near me. And my husband always carried her collar in his fishing box. So she still went fishing with him on every trip. She loved to go out on the boat with him.
Animals are our link to Herself. Such a gift. ❤
