I came to nursing late in life — so I was never really young, bright, or hungry — even in the first years of my career. I had kids — one with serious health issues — my family, not my career, was always my main concern. Oddly enough, my daughter was shocked to discover that I didn’t become a nurse because I was drawn to the work. I became a nurse because I needed a decent paying, stable job. Later, I found that I was quite suited to the career — but it never was my dream job. That’s why I’m just retired — not a retired nurse. ;)
As always, thanks so much for your kind support. I deeply appreciate it!
