How do you go about defending yourself to The World? Should we even try? Are you damned if you do— damned if you don’t?
The Judgement Zone seems to just keep growing. The place where Humans sit and compare themselves to each other. Where they evangelize their Lives and Belief Systems onto everyone in The World. We are made to stand and recite as to why we should be allowed to ‘keep ours’.
I’ve always felt this was an exercise in futility. I mean, Jesus — isn’t managing one’s own existence enough for a soul to deal with? Converting The Entire World to Be Just Like You is a fucking heavy burden.
Can I get an Amen?
And yet…and yet…under the guise of ‘curiosity’, of wanting to ‘learn’, or any other number of couched excuses — they come. To pick at you. To examine you. Your Thoughts, Your Opinions, Your Views, Your Positions. On All. The. Things.
“WHY? Why do you choose this? Why do you believe such? WHY?”
You can tell by the language they use when they question you— they aren’t there to learn. The interrogators don’t really care about Your Beliefs. They are searching for the loopholes so as to bring down your visions, the things you hold sacred, the parts of you which you fought so hard to bring forth into the Light. They want a toe hold to scale you and plant their own flag in your mind, heart, and soul.
Here’s the lesson for everyone on both sides of this struggle.
WE ARE MORE. WE ARE ALL MORE.
We are more than our profile pages on our social media accounts.
We are more than our religions.
We are more than our genders.
We are more than our roles in our families.
We are more than our careers, jobs, or educational degrees.
We are more than our hobbies, interests, or fetishes
We are more than our political affiliations.
We are more than our incomes, possessions, or social status.
We are more than our health — physical or mental — or lack thereof.
We are more than our ethnic heritage or country of origin.
We are more than the language we speak.
We are more than our abilities or disabilities.
We are more than the color of any part of our bodies.
We are more. We are ALL more.
When someone looks at only one aspect of another human — they limit what they see with this teeny tiny periscope vision. We are ALL more than what we see when we look at each other.
We are who we are. Humans are multi-layered, complex beings with many facets which make them incredibly messy. And breathtakingly beautiful. Together — all at once — at the same time.
I will not defend My Life to anyone these days. Any part of it. Not to satisfy their curiosity or to teach them. NO. It’s a complete sentence and I give no fucks as to how well anyone might accept this answer.
Those who love me, those who see me, those who understand me never have to ask me the questions. They already know…
I AM MORE.
Namaste.
